3 Hour Class the First Tuesday of each month.
Introduction to knowing your sewing machine. Both mechanical and basic computerized.

$10.00 to reserve your spot in class and balance of $75.00 paid directly to instructor.

How to clean the machine. Threading the machine. Winding a bobbin. Understanding different feet. Three main needle types: Universal, Jean, Topstitch. Different types of stitches and purposes. Difference between length and width (Hot to change on the machine). 

First Project: Back stitch - straight stitch - back stitch exercise on drawn lines.

Second project: Going around a square within a square; learning to pivot. 

Third project: Zigzag scrap or small cut pieces on a 6x6 backing piece (provided). This is a foolproof method to gain control and feel for the machine with back stitching and pivoting practice. 

Fourth project: Sew-as-you-go (or Quilt...) 6x6 backing piece provided. Learning to sew straight with a foolproof method. 

If time allows: Finish each 6x6 piece to make a coaster. 
Learning outcomes: Right sides together, making the perfect corner, ironing basics, sewing a seam, and turning a project "through".
